FROM THE OFFICE OF THE CEO

Dear Esteemed and Prospective Customers,

IMFB is a strong brand synonymous with quality, customer values and satisfaction, integrity and uprightness. The bank is dedicated to ensuring that the unbanked, micro and SME customers are given the best assistance in the attainment and achievement of their business goals. We are dedicated to, encourage self empowerment and growth which would ultimately eradicate poverty or reduce it to the barest minimum.

As directed by the Microfinance Policy of CBN, the bank operates under a diversified and professional board of directors. To ensure good governance, the board of directors of the bank is responsible for establishing strategic objectives, policies and procedures that would guide and direct the activities of the bank and mechanism for monitoring management performance. IMFB is committed to sound corporate governance and transparency.

In furtherance of this objective, in our first year of operations, all of our directors attended training at Harvard Business School, and Stanford Business School both in the USA between May and September 2007. In the second financial year ending September 30, 2008, the Bank continued to provide training to the Board members in various aspect of governance at different world class business schools around the globe. To this end, two of our Board members attended the IMD High Performance Board Program, other two Board members were admitted Wharton Fellows and attended the Wharton Fellows Masters class covering various aspects of decision making and corporate governance, while one of the Board member attended ‘Making Corporate Board Effective at Harvard Business School, Boston, USA. These we have done to reinforce our appreciation for the importance of sound corporate governance to serve the needs of our shareholders and other stakeholders by directing and controlling management activities with good business savvy, objectivity and integrity.

IMFB boasts of very high and dedicated professionals who have an unquenchable passion for what they do. Our staffs believe in assisting the poor and the masses to actualize their dreams for social upliftment.

The entire management team is comprised of seasoned bankers who have put in reasonable number of years in the banking sector, and worked in different commercial banks. We pride ourselves in the knowledge, experience and technical know how of our management staff. The passion to serve is unquenchable and unparallel in the service to customers.

Our customer services is second to none because for us, customer is key and as such the king. We go the extra mile to ensure that our esteemed customers are given exceptional services.

I sincerely appreciate the cooperation and support of all our clients. I am glad that as an institution, we have been able to meet your need through value added products and services at our various branches in the country. The exponential growth we have experienced and continue to experience is a product of the selfless service and passionate commitment of our workforce and the goodwill of all of our distinguished customers.

Perhaps, this could be measured by the enormous number of accounts we have opened within these past two years. I am pleased to welcome all the 142,634 (one hundred and forty two thousand, six hundred and thirty four) customers that have already experienced our value added and live changing products and services. I owe our current weekly growth of over 5,000 (five thousand) new customers to your loyalty and love for our Bank.

Please be assured of my total commitment along with all my colleagues to continuous improvement in our processes and operations to always deliver on our promise of always making our services available right at your doorstep. It is for this purpose that we have increased the number of our branches to 14 (fourteen) from 3 (three) at the end of September, 2007. ( Adeniyi Jones, Agege, Herbert Macaulay, Matori-Ladipo, Oke-Arin, Olowu Street, Imota, Mile 12, Kano, Kaduna, Ifo, Ikotun, Abeokuta and Ibadan). We have also increase the numbers of our ‘Customers’ Meeting Points from 37 to 81 across the five states of our operations in strategic market and micro business locations. In the coming months and subject to the approval of the Central Bank of Nigeria and availability of fairly long term funds, we would be taking our first class microfinance banking services to additional 10 (ten) states of the federation including the Federal Capital Territory, thus taking our states of coverage to 15 (fifteen) in line with our strategic vision.

I want to assure you that we would continue to show clear understanding of the importance of positioning and effective representation in close proximity to our target audience.

In recognition of the importance of agriculture and food production to national survival and poverty alleviation, in June, 2008, the Board approved the creation of Agricultural Microfinance Banking Division with agricultural financing specialists in all the agrarian economy within our coverage area. I am glad to say that, this strategic business division achieved tremendous results. Within the first 90 days, this division assisted over 1,000 (one thousand) farmers at different level and scale through the provision of seed capital, agricultural inputs and processing equipment financing. We are by this making a clear statement that ‘the interest’ of Nigerian citizens whether in urban cities or in remote villages is what matters most to us.

The outstanding value we have added and continue to add to the society coupled with our total commitment to excellence has received praises and accolades from all and sundries including the regulators. Perhaps, that explained the array of awards both the Bank and your Managing Director & Chief Executive have received in these last two years:
